Life's A Beach (2022)

Life’s A Beach premiered at Hull Truck before becoming Beach Hut’s first production in 2007. We were delighted to bring it back to Scarborough Library in our 15th anniversary year with the following cast:

JOSEPHINE PIMM as JO

Josephine Pimm has starred in many of our productions including Beetles & Baubles (2021), Inside Out (2020), The Curse of the Smuggler’s Run (2019), Love, When It’s Brass (2019), The Tenants of Wuthering Eyre (2018), The Wild Zone (2019), Pop-Up Pierrots (2018,2021), SnOwQuEeN (2017), Summer’s Edge (2016), Rock, Rascals and Revolutions (2015). On TV she has appeared in Scarborough (BBC 2019).

ALISON WATT as RITA

Alison Watt is Beach Hut’s Artistic Director. She has acted in many Beach Hut productions including Beetles & Baubles (2021), The Curse of the Smuggler’s Run (2019) and Pop-Up Pierrots (2017) and our original production of Life’s A Beach (2007).

SHANNON BARKER as LEANNE

Shannon Barker has appeared in Pop-Up Pierrots (2018, 2021), Inside Out (2020 & 2021), SnOwQuEeN (2017), and Summer’s Edge (2016) for Beach Hut Theatre Company. Shannon has also written and directed for Script Hut Nights (2020 & 2021).

Alison Watt is the writer/director of numerous plays and musicals including Pop-Up Pierrots* (2017, 2018, 2021), The Curse of the Smuggler's Run* (2019), Love, When It's Brass (2019), The Tenants of Wuthering Eyre* (2018), SnOwQuEeN* (2017), Summer's Edge* (2016), Life's A Beach (2007 & 2022).

As a scriptwriter she has written for Hull Truck, Soho Theatre and the Stephen Joseph Theatre. As a screenwriter she has written for EastEnders (BBC) and Crossroads (ITV).

DIRECTED BY JOHN PATTISON

John Pattison is the Associate Director and Musical Director at Beach Hut Theatre Company. He has written and directed The Wild Zone (2018) and Pop-Up Pierrots* (2017, 2018, 2021). He has co-written the musicals The Curse of the Smuggler's Run* (2019), The Tenants of Wuthering Eyre* (2018), SnOwQuEeN* (2017), Summer's Edge* (2016). In 2021, he composed The Northstar Bells as part of the Big Ideas by the Sea festival.

John has written musicals with Alan Ayckbourn and John Godber, and worked as a Musical Director at The Royal National Theatre and The Royal Shakespeare Company.
