THE FLOOD
What does the notion of ‘flood’ mean to you? Fathomless water, signifying doom? Raging emotion, you just can’t control? Excess? Extremity? Survival? Eight emerging playwrights, local to Scarborough, took the idea of ‘flood’ as their starting point and with the support of Beach Hut’s dramaturg, Alison Watt, created seven brand new 15 minute plays and an original mini-musical. These were performed as part of the Scarborough Literature Festival Fringe, where the subjects covered moved from uplifting to heart-breaking, from funny to mysterious, and far, far beyond.
The performance of all plays ran simultaneously and took place on Friday 12th April 2013, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Main Library, the IT Suite, the Foyer, the Reference section and the Scarborough Room at Scarborough Library, Vernon Road.
